Rob Holdway from Giraffe has been asked to speak at the Seoul Design Olympiad (SDO) 2008, which is very exciting and an honour for Giraffe. He will be talking about Design City, Design Leadership, Social Design and ‘Design is AIR’.
‘Design is AIR’ is the theme of Seoul Design Olympiad as it addresses the design discourse and exploration for the design of life, which communicates with nature’s elements: earth, water, fire, and wind. The air symbolises the energy flow within the void, design signifies the living energy that flows on our lifes.
Seoul has been designated as the World Design Capital (WDC) 2010. This is a project promoted by the International Design Allance (IDA) and entrusted to the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (Icsid) for the purpose of ‘highlighting the importance of design, developing the economy and enriching culture through the use of design under the laedership of cities, and improving the quality of life withinh those cities’.
